Attention CEO’s: It’s time for your salespeople to develop a personal brand

While marketing will always be an important ingredient for sales. Now more than ever your key sales people need to build personal relationships with prospects and customers.

With the current circumstances of the world, we can admit that the economy and the way that we do business has changed. While new quarantine requirements and periods of lockdown will be temporary, this has forever altered the way that our customers connect to us. It used to be that the company - i.e. the marketing team - would drive product awareness and attraction. And the sales people would do what is required to close the deal. However times have changed and too many companies haven’t gotten the memo. Online business has grown at an unprecedented rate due to the pandemic. And while we hope that soon we will have a vaccine and be able to permanently reduce the risks involved. The world will never go entirely back to the old normal. Business will never be the same. Customers have felt the ease of shopping online, getting everything delivered at their doors, use social media more than ever and do all types of meetings online via Zoom. But where is the response of the companies to stay on top of the new economy?

By now, I have expected to see more:

  • Virtual home showings taking place for real estate

  • Retailers to assign their employees as personal shoppers and offer online shopping with personal attention to their customers, followed by delivery at home

  • Sales employees doing online presentations

  • Event planners organising virtual events

  • More DIY products, use at home products being delivered

  • More educational services being created

As part of my work, I help my clients reinvest budget that would previously go to events and other marketing activities - back into the education of their key sales staff. Help your employees build a bond online and offline with your customers.

Let each sales person become THE go to for the customers in their account.

You will see:

  • An increase in referrals

  • An increase in repeat sales

  • An increase in customer loyalty

  • An increase in sales

  • An increase in employee motivation

  • An increase in your bottom line
